Have you been listening to the rumblings? Are the planet and the cosmos trying to tell us something? Just last week I was reading about another large scale earthquake in Indonesia and another in China this week. Many of these earthquakes have caused tumultuous damage and struck fear into the minds of countless millions anticipating the end of the world.

I know that many are going to get panicked and start to see in these ominous signs the world’s end especially in light of the very well publicized  Mayan prophecies of 2012.

I don’t want to minimize the eerie connections of Mark’s record of the Messiah’s prophetic word with our own age, but even from the time of Christ’s birth over 2000 years ago, humanity has been living in the End Days! The scriptures clearly denote that the world’s end will be inaugurated by the coming of the messiah!

We have been living in the End of the Age for 2000 years! The close of this age will come with Christ’s return, "like a thief in the night," and it may in fact not be too far off. It is not for us to speculate but to be prepared now, even today for His return. Mark 13:32

He is the completion of the law and prophets; the Atonement and the perfection of God, making the ultimate sacrifice and payment on behalf of all, the Lamb of God having taken away the sin of the world. Living under Grace we are NOW eternally united to Him!

The sign of the world’s end therefore is not in the next earthquake, or war, but Christ’s Resurrection. We must be ready NOW! Don’t follow false prophecies or procrastinate establishing a true, meaningful, committed and intimate relationship with Christ.

There is an old fable in which three apprentice devils were talking to Satan. The first one said, "I will tell people there is no God." Satan replied, "That will not fool many; because they know there is a God." The second devil said, "I will tell them there is no hell." Satan said, "You will never fool many that way, because they know there is a hell." The third said, "I will tell people there is no hurry." Satan said, "Go, and you will ruin millions."

The Day of Christ’s return is a day of joy for the church. It is the return of Her Groom, having gone to prepare a place for Her in His Father’s Kingdom. As a church and people we are not to be fearful of world events and to His glorious Second Coming, but pray for peace, work for righteousness, and be filled with faith, hope and charity and being ever watchful for both the signs of His mystical presence and His imminent return. Looking forward the Lord’s day we ceaselessly pray for repentance and for mercy; Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on me a sinner. Christ is Risen from the Dead, Blessed is the Resurrection of Christ.
