Attend the Opening of the “ToufayanHye Ortyats Getron Youth Center

 

TENTATIVE ITINERARY - 10 DAYS

 

DAY 1 –Transfer to hotel and settle in.

DAY 2  – YEREVAN CITY TOUR – Tsitsernakaberd 1915 Genocide Memorial, Republic Square; Erebuni Fortress and museum, town of ancient Yerevan; Yerevan State University; “Victory” Park, panoramic view of Yerevan and Mt. Ararat; Mashtots Avenue; Sports and Concerts Complex;  Kievian Bridge; Bagramian Avenue; Presidential Palace; Academy of Sciences; Parliament; Opera Theater.

DAY 3  Matenadaran-depository and Museum of ancient manuscripts  - Vernisage –outdoor market featuring hand made arts and crafts. – Shopping day

DAY 4  – Visit to Etchmiadzin, the center of Armenian Apostolic Church (301-303 AD) and the Holy See of the Supreme Catholicos; Liturgy; Treasury Museum; Hripsime Temple (7th century); Gayane Church (7th century).  

DAY 5  Visit to Khor Virap Monastery (St.Gregory the Illuminator’s underground pit) – Amazing view of Mt.Ararat –Areni Wine Factory- Noravank monastery – unrepeatable view of the nature.  – Spa of Jermook

DAY 6 - Visit to Lake Sevan, Sevan Monastery on the peninsula (8th century), the emerald of Armenia; Dilijan, a piece of Switzerland in Armenia; Haghartsin Monastery (12th century). (overnight in Sevan)

DAY 7  – August 30th - Attendance at the opening of the “Hye Ortyats Doon” in Etchmiadzin with blessing of His Holiness KAREKIN II. 

DAY 8 - Garni, the Pagan Temple of Hellenistic Style (1st century AD); Keghard Cave monastery and architectural complex, cut in one monolithic rock (12-13th c.)

DAY 9- Transfer to Airport.

 

 

Price per person is just $2,200, which includes:

§                     Airplane Ticket(Austrian Air-NY-Yerevan); Breakfast; accommodation on Double occupancy.  A/C, private bath.

§                     Guided Tours by bus (English)- Full transportation and transfers in Armenia Entrance Fees as specified in itinerary;

§                     Lunches

Not included in the price:  Visa for Armenia ($60) (www.armenianforeignministry.com ); Insurance; soft and alcoholic drinks; tips; additional tours and transfers not included in the itinerary; airport exit duty (10.000 dram).

Optional activities: Opera, Concerts, Theatre (Drama /Comedy); Restaurants/Cafés (with or w/out live music)

What to do?  Send a deposit IMMEDIATELY of $200 (non-refundable) per person by May 4th, 2007, along with a Xerox copy of your valid passport.  Balance due on May 31, 2007.
