Membership & Stewardship

"As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."
JOSHUA 24:15

By becoming a dues-paid member of St. Mary Armenian Church, not only will you have the privilege of having a voice and voting at the Parish Assembly, you will become an integral member, partner, architect and steward  in the life and ministry of our church.  Each year the Parish Assembly is typically held in the month of February.  This also entitles you to be eligible to be an officer of the Church.  Remember you can make a difference, and together we can preserve the Armenian faith and identity.
The annual membership fee is $200 per person or $75.00 for students.    If you were a dues-paid member last year, the deadline for your annual dues is December 31st of this year or  you will not be considered eligible to vote in the upcoming Parish Assembly as stated in the Amended By-Laws Article 6 of the Armenian Church of America (Eastern Diocese):
Every member of the Parish, 18 years of age or over, shall pay to his (or her) Church an annual due, the amount of which shall be paid in full by December 31st of the current year.
This deadline date applies to new and renewable membership, however, a new member must also have registered and paid his/her dues at least six months prior to the Parish Assembly in order to be eligible to vote.  Article 7 of the By-Laws of the Armenian Church of America (Eastern Diocese) states:
Members in good standing of a Parish Church, who are 18 years of age or over, may participate in the Assemblies of the same Parish and may vote, provided that at least six months have elapsed since they have registered and paid dues at the time of registration as members of the Parish.  They may be eligible for office one year after becoming members, provided they have attained the age of 21.
Thank you for registering as a dues-paid member and becoming a part of the St. Mary Armenian Church family.

"But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand."
1 Chronicles 29:14

We must offer to God a portion of everything we possess. A human being is made of soul, body and possessions. The soul offers prayers; the body, prostrations; and from our possessions a portion to God.
St. Gregory of Datev (1346-1440)

Who are members of the church? Who are stewards?
Members are those who commit to the annual membership dues of $200 ($75 for students). Stewards are members who contribute to the church over and beyond the standard membership dues of $200 per member each according to their ability.

Why should I become a member and/or steward?
Because you recognize the significant role the church plays in your life, and you want to support her mission. As a member, you have the privilege of participating in the decision-making process by attending and voting at the Annual Parish Assembly (dues must be paid in full by year-end in order to vote). As a steward, you participate in the implementation of programming and projects which support the church's mission.

Our Lord Jesus Christ says,
"Give, and it will be given to you. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."
Luke 6:38
